Airtel Africa elevates African Music at Trace Awards 2025

Airtel Africa has pledged its support to uplift African music and talent through its superior network, with the intent to ensure that artists achieve their dreams.

The network provider cemented its committment during the Trace Awards and Summit 2025, which was held at The Mora in Zanzibar between February 24 and 26. The event was officially opened by the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi who detailed the government’s vow in supporting the music industry by creating a conducive environment for the growth of the entertainment industry..

” We believe in the power of the entertainment sector to drive change because music is a great tool that inspires empowerment, promotes tourism, encourages economic growth, and social development. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank all stakeholders who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this event,” said Mwinyi.

Commenting on the musical event and Airtel Africa’s partnership of the Trace Awards, the Marketing Director at Airtel Tanzania, Timea Chogo, saidf that the Trace Awards are an opportunity for new talents to connect with their new fans and other entertainment stakeholders across the globe. 

“Hosting this international event in Zanzibar has created economic opportunities for artists in Tanzania through showcasing their talents. Furthermore, we are celebrating this event taking place in our home land because there are nine artists nominated for this event. We are aligning connectivity and African creativity as we are helping artists reach greater heights,” said Chogo.

On his part, the Brand Ambassador for Airtel Tanzania, Nassib Abdul, famously known as Diamond Platnumz, the Airtel Africa’s presence at the event aims to enhance communication for all participants.

“The Trace Awards have brought together people from across Africa and beyond. Airtel’s presence helps attendees stay connected through data services and other essential communication tools, enabling them to stay in touch with family and friends, conduct business, and share their content with other artists.”

The Trace Awards 2025 stirred meaningful conversations about the state of African music and how to advance it to global audiences.
