A gathering in Kibaha District was bathed in a warm glow from the morning sun, bearing with it a silent but pressing mission: clean energy for everybody.

The largest LPG supplier in the nation, Taifa Gas Tanzania Limited, was at the center of the engagement and is now stepping up its efforts to advance the national clean cooking agenda.
The company has been stepping up outreach efforts throughout Tanzania through its Clean Cooking and LPG Adoption docket, this time targeting organizations—such as schools, colleges, and healthcare facilities—that continue to use firewood and charcoal in spite of a government order requiring a switch to clean energy.
Representatives from Taifa Gas have been meeting with heads of institutions in the Pwani region as part of recent outreach efforts, providing information, technical assistance, and product solutions designed specifically for institutional use. Taifa Gas’s Clean Cooking and LPG Adoption Department Head, Ms. Angellah Bhoke, is spearheading the campaign. Her commitment to raising public awareness has enabled the company to reach thousands of people.
During one of the sessions, Ms. Bhoke stated, “We continue to share information and conduct campaigns aimed at sensitizing the public about the need to transit to clean energy for the sake of our health.” Her remarks demonstrated a strong sense of civic duty in addition to a business initiative. “Making sure that people, particularly those in institutions, are informed and supported during this energy transition is part of our company’s social duty.”
This engagement comes at an important time. Many institutions are still unaware of or ill-prepared to comply with the government’s mandate that all establishments employing more than 100 people switch to clean cooking energy, even though the deadline has already passed. In addition to providing LPG, Taifa Gas is filling that void by providing crucial information and direction to facilitate the shift.
The Pwani meeting served as a wake-up call for numerous school administrators. Many acknowledged that they were concerned about the lack of precise information and acknowledged that they had thought the directive was still being considered. Taifa Gas’s presence made the urgency more apparent and, more significantly, offered workable answers. The business provides assistance with everything from site inspections to installation, safety instruction, and adaptable supply plans.
This campaign’s ramifications extend beyond laws. In addition to posing major health risks, particularly in enclosed institutional kitchens, traditional cooking fuels like firewood and charcoal also contribute to environmental degradation and deforestation. In contrast, LPG provides a safer, quicker, and cleaner alternative that greatly enhances the working conditions for kitchen employees as well as the health of patients and students.
In the field of clean cooking in particular, Taifa Gas has become a powerful ally in the nation’s transition to sustainable energy. The business is assisting in putting policy into action through strong government alignment, a dependable supply chain, and regular community engagement.
Standing in front of a group of focused school administrators, Ms. Bhoke underlined that “clean cooking is not a luxury—it is a right.” “And it’s time we made it accessible to all Tanzanians.”
The trip to Kibaha is a reminder that access to clean energy is more than just fuel as the campaign spreads throughout the nation. Knowledge, consciousness, and the desire to change are key.
