ZANZIBAR, June 2025: Puma Energy Tanzania reaffirmed its vital role in advancing the country’s aviation sector as the Gold Sponsor of AviaDev 2025, held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Zanzibar from June 11 to 13, 2025.

In her keynote address at the gala dinner, which was attended by aviation leaders and stakeholders from across Africa, Ms. Fatma Abdallah, Managing Director of Puma Energy Tanzania, highlighted the company’s strategic contributions to the growth and sustainability of Tanzania’s aviation industry.
“Aviation is the pulse of national development,” Ms. Abdallah stated. “As the sole supplier of AvGas and a leading provider of Jet A-1 fuel across Tanzania, Puma Energy Tanzania is proud to be a reliable partner fueling the country’s air connectivity, tourism, and trade.”
She underscored Puma Energy Tanzania’s extensive presence at over eight key airports, including Julius Nyerere International Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport, and Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. Recent investments in modern fuel storage infrastructure, advanced hydrant systems, and high-tech refueling trucks have enhanced operational efficiency and safety, further positioning Tanzania as a strategic aviation hub in East Africa.

Ms. Abdallah emphasized the company’s broader economic impact—creating jobs in logistics and engineering, supporting Tanzania’s $3 billion tourism industry, and facilitating international trade through reliable air cargo fueling.
She reaffirmed Puma Energy Tanzania’s commitment to safety and sustainability, highlighting its adherence to IATA, ICAO, and JIG standards and ongoing investments in eco-efficient technologies to reduce emissions.
“We see ourselves not just as fuel suppliers, but as co-pilots in progress—partners in building a resilient, sustainable, and globally connected aviation ecosystem,” she concluded.
During the three-day conference (June 11-13), key players from the aviation and tourism sectors explored themes such as stakeholder engagement, destination-airline collaboration, policy reform, AI in aviation, network planning, and non-aeronautical revenue growth.

Panel discussions and workshops addressed challenges and opportunities in intra-African connectivity, aviation finance, market access, insurance resilience, and unserved routes, fostering collaboration and innovative strategies.
The event brought together high-level stakeholders, including Puma Energy Tanzania, AviaDev, Zanzibar Commission for Tourism, Zanzibar Presidential Delivery Bureau (ZPDB), Proflight Zambia, Flightlink, Fastjet, Air Tanzania, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, TAAG Angola Airlines, Embraer Commercial Aviation, AFRAA, Ravinala Airports, the Ghana Tourism Authority, SADC Business Council, Western Cape government, Jetcraft Commercial Limited, and TrueNoord, among others.
In conclusion, Ms. Abdallah reflected on the future, emphasizing Puma Energy Tanzania’s vision:
“While we fuel aircraft every two minutes across four continents, our greatest impact is in Africa. Let’s fuel a future of opportunity, innovation, and connectivity.”
