Dar es Salaam, Tanzania,– Stanbic Bank Tanzania has been named the Best Investment Bank in Tanzania at the 2025 Euromoney Awards for Excellence.
The award recognises the bank’s leadership in delivering strategic investment solutions that support national development, boost local industries, and drive long-term economic growth.

The award comes at a time when the bank has continued to play a key role in financing projects that matter. Over the past year, Stanbic has been involved in transactions that have helped expand industrial capacity, support long-term institutional investment, and promote sustainable practices. These efforts have created jobs, opened export opportunities, and strengthened Tanzania’s financial infrastructure.
“This award is not about visibility. It is about the value we bring to the country,” said Manzi Rwegasira, Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank Tanzania. “We have worked with clients in both the public and private sectors to finance projects that change lives and grow the economy. This recognition is proof of the trust our clients place in us and the seriousness with which we take our role as an investment partner.”
The bank’s corporate and investment banking team has led a number of complex financial transactions that required deep market knowledge, risk insight, and the ability to structure flexible solutions. These include capital raising, long-term loans, and advisory services that have supported local industries, improved sustainability in manufacturing, and helped long-term investors protect and grow their funds.
“We have focused on deals that build capacity and create long-term impact,” said Ester Manase Lobore, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking. “From helping clients expand production to supporting institutions that manage the country’s future savings, our goal has always been to deliver real value. This award reflects the work behind the scenes that most people do not see—but that drives growth at every level.”
In addition to investment structuring, Stanbic has also worked to connect local businesses with global opportunities. Backed by the reach and expertise of Standard Bank Group, the bank has helped Tanzanian firms tap into regional markets, navigate trade finance, and prepare for future capital raising.
Alongside the investment award, Stanbic Bank was also named the Best Bank in Tanzania for Customer Experience. This recognition reflects the bank’s commitment to putting clients at the centre of its strategy, from enhancing digital platforms and reimagining service journeys to building long-term relationships rooted in trust. It signals that for Stanbic, leadership is not only about driving economic value, but also about delivering an experience that is responsive, personalised, and consistently excellent.
The recognition adds to a strong performance by Standard Bank Group, which won a total of 26 awards across Africa at this year’s Euromoney Awards. The Group was named Africa’s Best Bank, Africa’s Best Investment Bank, and Africa’s Best Bank for Large Corporates, among others, reflecting its strong track record in delivering value across the continent.
Stanbic Bank Tanzania has been operating in the country for over 30 years, supporting local businesses, government priorities, and financial inclusion. The bank has grown into one of the country’s most trusted institutions, offering investment banking, personal banking, business banking, and advisory services.
“These awards belongs to every person we serve,” said Rwegasira. “We will continue to support growth, create solutions, and stand beside our clients as they build the future of this country.”
