Stanbic Bank Tanzania today officially launched the eMkopo service, a digital loan specifically designed for public servants, through an official collaboration with the Government’s Watumishi Portal system (https://ess.utumishi.go.tz).

This service will enable public servants in the country to apply for and receive loans of up to TZS 200 million, with a repayment period of up to 108 months (equivalent to 9 years), through a simple and digital process without the need to visit bank branches.
Speaking at the launch, Emmanuel Mahondanga, Head of Personal Banking at Stanbic Bank, said:
“The launch of eMkopo marks a significant step in providing financial services that align with today’s needs. By integrating with the government’s Watumishi Portal, we simplify the entire loan access process for public servants – in a fast, secure, and user-friendly manner. This is part of our commitment to enhancing financial inclusion and promoting the well-being of our customers.”
Priscus Kavishe, Senior Manager of Sales and Customer Acquisition, added:
“eMkopo is the result of collaboration between the public and private sectors, aimed at efficiently serving public servants. Through the Watumishi Portal – which is the official government platform – clients can apply for a loan of up to TZS 200 million digitally, and repay it gradually over a period of up to 9 years. We ensure that this service is easily accessible and comes with favorable terms.”
