Airtel Tanzania has launched a dedicated nursing room at its headquarters in Dar es Salaam, cementing the mobile company’s devotion to supporting working mothers in juggling motherhood and work in celebration of the International Women’s Day 2025.

Speaking during the launch of the nursing facility, the Managing Director of Airtel Tanzania, Charles Kamoto, said the initiative is important in accelerating gender-inclusive policies in the corporate world that prioritize employee well-being and set new standards that provide a safe and comfortable space for mothers to attend to their children while at work.
“One of our values at Airtel Tanzania is to walk the talk. At Airtel, we ensure that the change we speak about becomes our reality. This nursing room reflects our continued efforts to support women in the workplace. We empower Airtel Divas to excel in their careers and their personal lives, without having to choose between work and motherhood,” detailed Kamoto.
On her part, the Human Resources Director at Airtel Tanzania, Stella Kibacha explained that this initiative reflects Airtel Tanzania’s determination to create a workplace where women can thrive as the nursing facility will enhance the professional lives of working mothers.
“A dedicated space like this ensures that working mothers can balance their professional and personal responsibilities with dignity and ease. We are supporting nursing mothers as this will improve their well-being and productivity,” she said.
Commenting on the launch of the nursing facility, Airtel Tanzania Customer Experience Director, Adrianna Lyamba said that it is an important initiative that positively impacts the psychological well-being of working mothers.
“Parenthood should never be a barrier to career growth. We understand the challenges that come with being a mother while fulfilling professional duties, which is why this nursing room is so important. It provides working mothers with psychological peace, knowing they have a dedicated space to care for their infants while remaining productive. With this initiative, Airtel Tanzania is accelerating action to ensure women are supported at every level.”
According to the Supply Chain Director at Airtel Tanzania, Daniel Akuffo, the newly introduced nursing room outlines Airtel Tanzania’s broader vision for inclusivity and empowerment.
“A supportive workplace is about creating an environment where every employee can grow both professionally and personally. The launch of this nursing room shows our dedication to workplace inclusivity. When employees feel supported, they are more engaged and focused, which benefits both individuals and the company,” he emphasized.
