Vodacom Tanzania honors customer support staff in grand finale of Customer Service Week 

  • “Night of Champions” Celebrates Excellence, Passion and 25 Years of Service

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – October, 2025: Vodacom Tanzania brought its annual Customer Service Week to a stirring close with a dazzling Award Ceremony themed “Night of Champions.” The celebration paid tribute to the company’s customer service and support teams whose unwavering dedication continues to define Vodacom’s customer experience legacy.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Human Resources Director Vivienne Penessis lauded the support staff as the backbone of the brand’s success, “tonight, we gather to honor the heroes of our customer experience journey. Your dedication, passion, and resilience are the reason Vodacom continues to lead in service excellence,” she said. 

Reflecting on Vodacom’s 25-year journey, Penessis added, “Vodacom’s legacy is not just in technology; it is in the human connections we have built over time. And the people we are celebrating today have been instrumental in helping us to grow not just in numbers, but in trust, in reputation, and in impact.

On her side, Belinda Wera Head of Customer Experience and Digital Care, highlighted that the award ceremony is about rewarding customer facing teams as well as staff who work behind the scenes in the support function, “the awards given tonight are more than recognition, they are a reflection of Vodacom’s culture as exemplified by remarkable individuals across all channels like call center, back office, retail support at our Vodashops, as well as network and IT support teams.”

The Night of Champions celebrated Vodacom employees who embody the Spirit Pillars, those who unite teams to deliver results, boldly innovate for the future, learn fast through experimentation, and earn customer loyalty by creating brilliant experiences.

The night also featured creative talents, with performances by Vodacom staff in the areas of music, comedy, poem reciting and event hosting thereby demonstrating diversity and excellence beyond connecting and supporting customers.

During the event, a total of 38 awards were presented in recognition of exceptional contributions across diverse teams and functions. This included 37 individual awards and 1 team award honoring a group that showcased exemplary performance.
