Vodacom Tanzania Open 2025 ends in style

The prestigious Vodacom Tanzania Open 2025 has been concluded at the scenic Kilimanjaro Golf & Wildlife Estate (Kiligolf) in Arusha with a vibrant prize-giving ceremony. The four-day tournament united golfers of all ages and skill levels from across the region, marking a key highlight in Tanzania’s golf calendar.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vodacom Tanzania Board Chairman, Mr. David Tarimo, reflected on the success of the tournament, “what a remarkable four days it has been. We have witnessed thrilling competition, incredible talent and a vibrant display of passion for sport. From seasoned professionals to emerging players, this tournament has brought together a diverse and dynamic field, making it one of the most memorable editions yet”.

He further emphasized Vodacom’s commitment to sport and technology saying, “golf reflects values we hold dear: precision, discipline, and strategic thinking. As a third time sponsor, we are investing in a platform that elevates local talent, promotes regional integration, and positions Tanzania as a destination for world-class sporting events. This year, we have integrated smart tech into the event from live scoring updates to interactive fan experiences powered by Vodacom’s super network.

The Vodacom Tanzania Open 2025 is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) registered tournament and aligns with Vodacom’s broader mission to empower communities through sports, inclusivity, and progressive impact.

Adding to the celebration, Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) Chairman, Mr. Gilman Kasiga, commended the partnership and the tournament’s impact, “we are proud to have partnered with Vodacom Tanzania for this year’s Open. Their commitment to excellence and innovation has elevated the standard of golf tournaments in our country. This event has not only showcased top-tier talent but also demonstrated how strategic partnerships can grow sports and engage communities. For the third consecutive year, Vodacom has stood by us, showcasing its dedication to sports development and talent growth in Tanzania.”

The tournament awarded substantial prizes across both professional and amateur categories, with top professional finishers receiving up to TZS 8.2 million and prize money extended to the top 22 competitors. The leading amateur golfer was also recognized with a TZS 2.5 million award, reflecting the tournament’s commitment to celebrating excellence across all levels of play.

The winners were selected based on performance across four days of stroke play, governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A and USGA, and supplemented by local rules specific to Kiligolf.

As Vodacom celebrates 25 years of connecting Tanzanians, the company remains committed to building a legacy of excellence on the course, in communities, and across the region.
