Through Airtel’s initiatives such as Smart Wasomi and the Airtel Renovation School Project, the company has created opportunities that have empowered hundreds of thousands of young learners in Tanzania to create a smarter and brighter future for themselves.
Building Conducive Learning Environments
Airtel Tanzania has launched the Airtel Renovation School Project with the goal of improving infrastructure in public schools. Previous projects completed under this initiative include: the renovation of Kiromo Primary School in Bagamoyo and the coming work at Mnyuzi Primary School in Songwe. The efforts to renovate these buildings ensure that students are learning in a conducive environment where they feel safe and inspired.

Promoting Digital Literacy
Airtel has provided internet connectivity to renovated schools, recognizing the growing importance of technology in education. This initiative bridges the digital divide, enabling students to access online resources and develop essential digital skills for the future. Under the Promoting Digital Literacy project, Airtel has supported over 301,719 students who benefit from the internet connection to schools.

Free Access to Learning
Through the SmartWasomi Project, Airtel is offering zero–rated educational platforms. This means children can access a wide range of learning materials for free, removing financial barriers and promoting inclusive education. This is to make the children’s learning environment simple and convenient.

As the 2025 world children’s day theme “my day, my right” which focuses on listening to children about their experience, and how their rights are being met.
