TEEMO AFRICA has recognized C-WEED Mwani and its Founder, Murtaza “Morty” Fazal, for their outstanding leadership and significant contribution to advancing Tanzania’s blue economy while improving the livelihoods of coastal communities.
TEEMO AFRICA Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Winfrida Shonde, who commended C-WEED Mwani for its long-standing commitment to empowering seaweed farmers—particularly women—through sustainable farming practices, access to modern equipment, technical training, and expanded market opportunities.

Shonde also praised Fazal’s visionary leadership in expanding Tanzania’s seaweed industry through innovation, value addition, and inclusive economic growth that directly benefits local communities.
