Kahama, October 24, 2026. Airtel Tanzania, through its enterprise division, Airtel Business, showcases digital and connectivity solutions designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the 5th Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) National Exhibition, running from October 21 to October 30, 2026, at Magufuli Grounds in Kahama Municipality, Shinyanga Region

Organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Office of the Shinyanga Regional Commissioner, the 10-day exhibition brings together more than 600 entrepreneurs and small enterprises from Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Speaking at the official opening, Judith Kapinga, Minister for Industry and Trade, highlighted the government’s efforts to expand access to loans, helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, increase production and create jobs. She also called for stronger collaboration between the private sector and SIDO to address barriers in the sector.

“The goal of this Sixth Phase Government is to ensure that these services continue reaching more entrepreneurs, particularly those with the capacity to increase production and grow their businesses but who face barriers to accessing capital. I would also like to urge financial institutions to continue working with the government through SIDO to develop financial services that address the needs of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and support the growth of this sector in the country,” she said.

The Minister also urged SIDO to prioritise financing for productive activities that add value, strengthen local industries and generate employment.

On his part, Joseph Vipond, Director of Airtel Business, said Airtel’s participation reflects its commitment to helping entrepreneurs access practical digital tools to support their operations and growth.
