Through its Corporate Social Investment Program, NMB Bank has donated 100 desks, 100 chairs and 100 tables to two primary schools and one secondary school in Malinyi district, Morogoro region, worth a total of TSh 21.6 million.
This donation is part of Tsh 7.4 billion the bank set aside to support community projects in the Education, Health and Environment sectors for 2026, equivalent to one percent of the Profit After Tax for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025.
NMB Bank’s Central Zone Manager, Ms. Janeth Shango, handed over the donations to the Malinyi District Commissioner, Hon. Sebastian Waryuba, who received them on behalf of the headteachers of Madibila Chini Primary School, Salamiti Primary School and Kilosa Mpepo Secondary School, all in Malinyi.

Speaking at the event held at Kilosa Mpepo Secondary School, Ms. Shango said Madibila Chini Primary School received 50 desks, the same number was given to Salamiti Primary School, while Kilosa Mpepo Secondary School received 100 chairs and 100 tables for students.
This support demonstrates the Bank’s participation in social development and returning value to the community from its profits. Through such contributions, NMB Bank has helped bring change in the education sector and has earned recognition, including being awarded Best Bank in Corporate Social Responsibility by Global Banking Magazine (USA).
DC Waryuba thanked and commended NMB Bank for the Tsh 21.6 million contributions, noting that a quick calculation shows that these desks, chairs and tables will lift nearly 500 pupils who had been studying on the floor.
DC Waryuba added that NMB has already opened a path to improving education in Malinyi and urged more stakeholders to follow the bank’s example by voluntarily supporting; he also stressed to teachers and students the importance of taking care of the donated items to encourage further donors.
