Dodoma, March 30, 2026 – Residents of Dodoma and surrounding areas, along with passengers using the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), will now have faster and more convenient access to communication and financial services following the opening of a new Yas store.
The outlet is expected to simplify the daily transactions, support small businesses, and improve access to digital services.
The store was officially inaugurated by Dodoma District Commissioner, Jabir Shekimweri, as part of the company’s continued expansion across the country.
Customers will be able to access a range of services, including SIM card registration, mobile financial services through Mixx, and the purchase of devices such as smartphones. The store will also provide solutions tailored for businesses.
Speaking at the launch, Shekimweri commended Yas for its role in supporting the digital economy and economic activities in the capital.
“The opening of this store will create employment opportunities, boost economic activity, simplify access to services, and expand connectivity for residents,” he said.
Yas Tanzania’s Director of Customer Experience and Operations, Mwangaza Matotola, said the company is focused on bringing services closer to customers, particularly in high-traffic areas such as SGR stations.
“Dodoma is growing rapidly, and demand for reliable communication services continues to increase,” she said.
She added that the store will also offer business solutions, including the Mjasiriamali Box for small entrepreneurs.
The company has also expanded its digital customer service platforms, including chatbots and social media channels, to improve service delivery.
Representing the Director General of TRC, Head of Public Relations and Communications Unit, Fredy Mwanjala, said the presence of Yas at the station strengthens its role as a hub for integrated services and enhances the passenger experience.
The new outlet brings the number of Yas stores in Dodoma to five, reflecting the company’s strategy to expand digital services across the country.
