GF showcases industrial innovation as Mwinyi closes DITF

ZANZIBAR President Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi has underscored the critical role of local manufacturers in accelerating Tanzania’s industrialisation and economic transformation, saying the private sector remains central to creating jobs and adding value to the country’s economy.

The President made the remarks during a tour of the GF Pavilion at the official closing of the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba.

Accompanied by Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) Director Dr Latifa Mohammed, Dr Mwinyi was received by GF Chairman Mehboob Karmali and GF Director Alijawad Karmali, who briefed him on the company’s latest locally manufactured products and investments in industrial innovation.

The President toured the exhibition, where GF showcased a range of products manufactured in Tanzania as well as new technologies aimed at improving production efficiency and supporting the country’s industrialisation agenda.

The visit highlighted the growing contribution of the private sector to expanding Tanzania’s manufacturing base, creating employment opportunities and promoting value addition through local production.

Speaking after hosting the President, GF Chairman Mehboob Karmali described the visit as an important recognition of the company’s efforts to promote manufacturing excellence.

“We are honoured to receive President Mwinyi at our pavilion. His visit inspires us to continue investing in innovation, quality production and industrial development in Tanzania,” he said.

Karmali reaffirmed the company’s commitment to producing world-class products locally while supporting the government’s vision of building a competitive industrial economy.

As the curtain fell on the golden jubilee edition of the trade fair, GF thanked TanTrade for organising the exhibition and expressed appreciation to customers, business partners and visitors for their continued support.

The 50th edition of DITF brought together hundreds of local and international exhibitors, providing a platform for businesses to showcase products, attract investment and strengthen commercial partnerships in support of Tanzania’s economic growth.
