Bolt Tanzania has been recognized as the Best Urban Mobility & Ride-Hailing Company of the Year at the Africa Transportation Excellence Awards Night 2026, held at Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
Receiving the award, Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager, Bolt East Africa, described the recognition as a testament to Tanzania’s rapid digital mobility transformation.
“Bolt operates in over 50 countries globally, and in 2025 Tanzania emerged as one of our fastest-growing markets in Africa — second globally only to Switzerland. This growth reflects the increasing demand for inclusive, technology-driven mobility solutions,” he said.

Bolt was the first ride-hailing platform in Tanzania to integrate two-wheelers (boda boda) and three-wheelers (bajajis) into its digital platform, expanding access to millions of riders across mid- and low-income communities.
Kanyankole acknowledged the role of government and regulators in enabling sector growth. “We sincerely appreciate the Ministry of Transport for cultivating a conducive environment for mobility investors. Sustainable innovation thrives where policy and enterprise move together,” he noted.
He also dedicated the award to Bolt’s driver community, stating that the achievement belongs to “the thousands of Tanzanian drivers who power the ecosystem daily and the riders who trust digital mobility.”
Bolt reaffirmed its commitment to continued investment, innovation, and partnership to strengthen Tanzania’s formal mobility ecosystem.
