Exim Bank, Ministry strengthen education partnership

Exim Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education reforms in Tanzania through strengthened collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

A delegation from the bank, led by Chief Financial Officer Shani Kinswaga, alongside Head of Retail Banking Andrew Lyimo and Head of Marketing and Communications Stanley Kafu, held talks with the Minister for Education, Hon. Adolf Mkenda, in Dodoma on April 27, 2026.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in key areas of education development, including financing opportunities for higher education students—particularly those pursuing Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and interdisciplinary studies.

Discussions also explored broader support mechanisms such as sponsorships, training, and capacity-building programs aimed at equipping young Tanzanians with modern skills relevant to the evolving job market.

Both sides underscored the importance of investing in science, technology, and innovation to enable Tanzania to keep pace with global digital transformation.

The Minister welcomed the private sector’s growing role in advancing education, noting that such partnerships are vital in achieving reforms aimed at building a highly skilled workforce.

The engagement is expected to pave the way for new joint projects and programs that will significantly contribute to the growth and transformation of the country’s education sector.
