Dar es Salaam’s private members’ club, has secured formal admission into the International Associate Clubs (IAC), an international network widely recognised as a benchmark for elite private membership institutions across more than 40 countries worldwide.
Founded in 1983, the International Associate Clubs network predates much of the globalisation of modern private club culture.
Over the years, the network has expanded to include nearly 250 member clubs, coordinating reciprocal visiting privileges among affiliated institutions while serving a combined membership base of more than 330,000 individuals globally.
Its affiliated institutions include prestigious city clubs, golf and country clubs, and premium business venues located in major international commercial centres such as London, Dubai, New York, Nairobi, Singapore, Hong Kong, and several destinations across the Gulf region and continental Africa.
The nominated Peninsula Club, and for Tanzania more broadly, admission into the network carries considerable institutional significance.
Clubs seeking admission undergo a detailed evaluation process assessing the calibre of their facilities, the quality of their services, operational standards, and the character of their membership culture.
The Peninsula Club’s successful admission therefore signals that a private institution developed in Dar es Salaam has achieved standards that meet internationally recognised benchmarks for excellence within the global private club sector.
Beyond its social and lifestyle offering, the club has increasingly positioned itself as one of Dar es Salaam’s premier corporate destinations.
The Club’s private meeting rooms, executive boardroom facilities, and event spaces provide companies and institutions with a refined setting for board meetings, executive strategy sessions, corporate networking events, team-building programmes, and client entertainment.
The Club’s admission into the IAC network significantly expands this corporate dimension internationally.
Members conducting business in London, Dubai, New York, Nairobi, Singapore, Hong Kong, or any of the network’s more than 40 participating countries now gain direct access to partner clubs offering equivalent facilities, including private meeting rooms, business lounges, fine dining venues, and executive hospitality environments designed to support high-level professional interaction.
The Peninsula Club’s sporting offering, anchored by its advanced Trackman Golf Simulators and complemented by access to more than 60 affiliated golf courses worldwide through the IAC network, forms part of a broader commitment to community engagement and corporate responsibility.
Speaking on the milestone achievement, Managing Director of HSK Group, Karim Karim, described the admission as a defining moment in the Club’s evolution.
“Our members are now part of a global community, with access to some of the finest private clubs in the world wherever they travel. This is not an endpoint. It is the standard we will continue to rise to,” he said.
The General Manager of The Peninsula Club, Kevin Menzah, said the recognition reflected the collective effort of the Club’s team.
“This moment belongs, above all, to our team. Every person at The Peninsula Club has contributed to building something that is now recognised on a global stage. Your commitment to excellence is what truly defines this club, and what will continue to drive everything we do. We are deeply grateful.”
